If you are looking for a lift to suit a space where the headroom at the upper level is limited, a motor-below service lift may be the solution you are looking for.

There are three options for this style of lift.

  • Standard motor below lift - Very similar to the BKG waist level lift, this lift serves at waist level height at both levels. With the motor situated at the bottom of the lift shaft this is ideal where headroom is limited.
  • Under Bar Hoist – Most popular for a bar situation where the position of the lift at the top level is under a bar counter or worktop. The top floor entrance serves at floor level height to limit the headroom required to just 1000 mm. The lower level entrance serves at waist level height with the motor situated at the base of the lift shaft.
  • Document Lift – This small service lift, with a capacity of 5kg or 20kg, is purpose built for small lightweight goods.

BKG Motor below Lift

Our standard motor below lifts have all the same benefits available as the BKG waist level lift, but with the motor situated at the base of the lift shaft, the height of the enclosure at the top level can be lower than a standard lift.

Each landing entrance is fitted with vertical sliding bi-parting shutters to minimise space required in front of the lift when loading. The car entrances are also fitted with shutters to ensure the goods are fully within the lift car to prevent misloading.

BKG Under Bar Hoist

This style of service lift is best suited to a bar situation. It is Ideal for bringing boxed goods or bottles up from a cellar, or basement store room, to a bar area serving under a counter.

The Under-bar hoist incorporates a bi-parting shutter at the lower level, whilst the top level is fitted with a hinged door to minimise the space required above the lift entrance.

Due to limiting the space required above the lift, the car cannot be fitted with full entrance protection. The only option available is a drop bar which sits diagonally across the lift car entrance/s. Consequently, this lift is only recommended for transporting larger goods which are unlikely to fall forward during transit.

Document Lift

The BKG document lift is the smallest of the lifts we offer, suitable for moving compact lightweight goods.

A popular choice for moving paperwork or small goods in offices, dental surgeries, private houses and businesses with the need to move items quickly between floors.

The motor is situated at the base of the lift shaft, which together with the hinged door entrances and reduced car height, results in the headroom required being only 1470 mm.

With this model the lift car cannot be fitted with entrance protection and therefore it is recommended the goods are transported in trays or boxes to prevent the goods falling forward in transportation.
